👉 We are looking for a Purchaser to join our team at Valo Motion. In this role, you’ll take charge of our procurement operations, ensuring we have everything we need to build our mixed-reality game products. You’ll get to streamline processes, collaborate with suppliers, and support our growing operations.

What is the role and who would you be working with?

As the Purchaser, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently. Your main focus will be managing the procurement of components, optimizing inventory levels, and streamlining processes to support our fast-growing production needs. 

Our current procurement process relies on a mix of manual workflows and ERP systems like Odoo. As our Purchaser, you’ll help transition to a more structured, data-driven system, implementing best practices and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. 

‍Your tasks include:

✅ Manage procurement and supplier relationships: Oversee the entire purchasing process, from sourcing and placing orders to tracking deliveries. Build strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.

✅ Optimize inventory management: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure we always have the right amount of materials – no shortages, no overstocking.

✅ Streamline and improve processes: Transition our procurement workflows from manual processes to efficient, data-driven systems using tools like Odoo ERP and Excel. Develop structured inventory and purchasing methods that support our growth.

✅ Source strategically: Research and onboard new suppliers to enhance cost-efficiency, quality, and reliability for both current and future production needs.

✅ Collaborate across teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to ensure alignment on timelines, product development goals, and material requirements.

✅ Solve supply chain challenges: Proactively identify and resolve potential supply chain issues to keep production running smoothly and avoid disruptions.

🏢 Our office is located in Lauttasaari, Helsinki, where you'll take charge of procurement and inventory management – ensuring smooth and efficient supply chain operations to support the creation of our mixed-reality games. Your contributions will directly enhance our ability to deliver innovative, high-quality experiences to players around the world.

👋 In this role, you'll work closely with COO Leo Holsti and Manufacturing Officer Kari Halio, as well as our production, engineering, and sales teams. Together, you'll improve processes, strengthen supplier relationships, and align procurement strategies with our broader company goals. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we create and deliver our innovative products. Critical knowhow that you’ll need to succeed in this role

✅ Language & Location: Fluent in English and able to work on-site at our office in Helsinki (Lauttasaari). Finnish is a bonus for working with local suppliers.

✅ Procurement experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Purchaser, ideally in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for those familiar with electronics or similar industries.

✅ Relevant technical proficiency: Solid understanding of electronics, computer components, and manufacturing processes to facilitate clear communication with suppliers and internal teams.

✅ ERP and data skills: Experience with ERP systems (Odoo is a bonus) and advanced Excel skills for managing inventory, analyzing data, and creating detailed reports.

✅ Negotiation and relationship building: Proven ability to negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

✅ Problem-solving mindset: Resourceful and proactive in addressing supply chain challenges, ensuring smooth production operations.

✅ Collaboration and organizational skills: Ability to work closely with production, engineering, and sales teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
