Redd had heard praises from another franchisee about ValoClimb being a great bang for the buck, and especially with the limited amount of space required, getting the system was a “no-brainer”.
It has now been one year since ValoClimb was installed in Sioux Falls, an event described by Redd laconically as a “piece of cake”: the installation was done within a couple of hours. And how about meeting expectations? Sky Zone’s main customer segment is children aged 8-14, and also younger ones, who mainly come with their parents. “It’s fun, kids love it!” says Redd about how the children have received ValoClimb. Some kids are on ValoClimb the whole day, and especially the smaller ones do not have to climb as high as on the park’s other climbing wall.

How did customers respond to ValoClimb?
Redd says that customers today can be demanding, as they need to be kept constantly engaged, for otherwise they get easily bored. Especially young people need excitement and competition. ValoClimb is perfect for this: kids want to be the one who whacks the most bats or the one who has the fastest time on a climbing route.
However, the kids seem to have the most fun when working together and trying to play the games as a team. Redd often witnesses groups of 2-3 children, “Really getting a workout trying to get those bats”, as he describes.
For kids and adults alike, ValoClimb is something they have never seen anywhere, and it clearly makes them also want to come back for more. ValoClimb is visually a very appealing attraction, and for most people, it’s a real eye-catcher equipped with an evident wow factor. But for Sky Zone Sioux Falls, it has been a lot more than that. With ValoClimb in their list of attractions, the competition does not even come close, Redd states.
