Shadowlings is a multiplayer puzzle game for ValoClimb that introduces many brand new technological advancements to our augmented climbing system, mainly allowing the players to interact with these fluffy fellows just by using their own shadow!
The game is played on the ValoClimb climbing wall with cute Shadowlings that have gotten lost in the Shadow realm. The players use their own shadows to nudge, carry and fling the creatures across dozens of levels. This interactive climbing game means a physical and mental challenge for kids and adults on the climbing wall.. The players need to figure out the puzzles as quickly as possible and they can compete with other players to create their own leaderboard. As is true for all of our games, after each game the player can share their game videos on social media by using the ValoClimb touchscreen.
The game is designed for entry-level climbers that want to work together and solve climbing challenges. It’s perfect for parents to play with their children or small groups of friends. The experience of working together and helping each other is a first for ValoClimb games so far.
Shadowlings introduces many brand new technological advancements to the ValoClimb system:
All these new advancements will be used for future games on both ValoClimb and the trampoline game platform ValoJump to make new exciting experiences.
We hope the game gets people to try climbing for the first time and find out that they can be successful while doing so. Though, even for the expert climbers out there, our big, varied set of levels provides intense climbing challenges. But even those can be overcome with clever thinking and a few friends to help. We are very proud of Shadowlings and can’t wait to see people try it out.
"We noticed that people really want to play ValoClimb with their friends, while working towards a common goal. Also, many of our players are not expert climbers, so Shadowlings is designed to encourage spurts of climbing, not complete mastery. "- Lassi Vapaakallio,Valo Motion game developer
We have listened to our clients at the family entertainment venues and taken extra steps to make sure the new game is perfect for the parks. The game is played in short 2-3 minute sessions, so that as many people as possible get to try the game out during the day. Many people actually do get to try it as the game technically works with a maximum of 4 players. We still recommend to play with 2 adults or 3 children at a time for the safest and most fun experience. It also works perfectly as a single player climbing challenge and you will find yourself exhausted after completing hard difficulty levels on your own.
